Peterson Park in Northport, Michigan: A scenic park to visit when you Travel to Michigan - What is there to do in Northern Michigan? Why not explore some of the state's natural beauty on your vacation by taking a hike in nature.

My sister and I recently took a little mini-trip out to Northport to sight-see around our state on a gorgeous (but windy) Spring day. We ended up pulling over her car and taking a stroll around this scenic park overlooking Lake Michigan. The water was blue, the sun was warm(ish) and there wasn't a cloud in the sky! Sure it was a bit chilly, but we had fun regardless! I hope to be returning there again soon, but until then... here's a video documentation of our adventure. Maybe I'll see you there sometime? (I'd love to take my mermaid tail out for a swim there, though I think it's a bit too rocky. :C )

Here are some highlights of Peterson Park:

-It is BEAUTIFUL!!!
-Access to the beach (which is full of pretty stones!)
-Surrounded by wildlife
-Just minutes away from the quaint village of Northport
-Plenty of areas for picnics and cookouts (there are fire-pits and free-standing picnic tables along with picnic tables under a gazebo)
-There's a small play-set and swing-set for the children
-There's a simple (and sandy) volleyball court
-Lots of space to run around and play!
